Local History

New Bridge, Fordhouse Lane. Stirchley. c.1920, showing the bridge over the River Rea. This bridge has now been replaced by a plain brick structure, though the river bank and walkway still retain a rural feel. In the background is a distant view of the embankment of the Camp Hill to Kings Norton railway line.
