The manor changed hands and. at some unknown time, was demolished Hazelwell Hall was built and the Tithe map of around 1836 shows the hall and land belonging to a Charles Huskinson and in 1864. to Samuel Phillips Later records say that the hall belonged to the Cartland family It was used as a convalescent home for wounded soldiers in the 1914-18 war and was some time later demolished for The Hazelwell public house to be built This replaced the small tavern that had been in the village near the British Oak public house.<\/span><\/p>\n
