| Stirchley Bash 2014
Saturday 06th September 2014 Well, what a fantastic day it was, all our volunteers met in Stirchley park at 07.30 am some had been down the night before to mark out the pitches (thank you Rowena) up went the first three gazebos, by the time this was done the stall holders started to arrive and it began to feel like it was really happening after months of planning, we thought it was over at one time as the mini cup’s & Saucer ride nearly got stuck in the entrance. Suddenly at 10.30 I realised that the generator that was supposed to be here at 10.00 hadn’t arrived, another panicked phone call and all was well. At 11.00 the park was quite busy but it was very overcast, but as soon as I declared the bash open, the cloud disappeared and the sun shone for the rest of the day. The feedback we had both on the day and since (on Facebook & twitter I believe. If some of you could post on the website forum boards that would be great. We delivered approximately 20 unclaimed raffle prizes on Sunday, next year we will ask people to come and collect. It seems everybody was happy on Saturday, especially the children, the sight & Sound of the children watching the punch &Judy show at least 50 children sat cross legged was a joy. Did you prefer the bash in Stirchley Park or the fun day’s we had in Hazelwell Park.? Let me know, either post on the stirchley.co.uk website forum boards or email me directly at stirchleynf@gmail.com Can I also thank Diane, StirchleyNews for taking the photos, more photos can be found on the StirchleyNews facebook page Peter Walker Chairman Stirchley Neighbourhood Forum
